Fundraising is an important part of life as an active Rotarian.
Fundraising goes hand-in-hand with delivering project outcomes and it is therefore imperative that fundraising goals are set and achieved by individual Rotary Clubs. Membership Fees provide some funds for project delivery but the majority of funds must be raised through fundraising initiatives implemented and managed by each Club.
Without a successful fundraising arm, Club’s cannot support special projects that will directly benefit others. It is therefore imperative for a Club to have ongoing fundraising projects that create important cash flow and also provide Members with the opportunity to support activities and utilize their skills and expertise to reach their Club’s fundraising target.
The management and implementation of fundraising projects are allocated to a dedicated Member or Sub-committee of Members to ensure their success and professional delivery. Such projects can include special events, fundraising drives, manpower resources, raffles etc.
The Rotary Club of Malvern has, over many years, established some very successful ongoing fundraising activities including:
Public Car Parking at the Kooyong Classic International Tennis Tournament
Members are required to assist with the manning of designated public areas for car parking and the Club receives 100% of the funds generated for this service.
Pets in the Park – City of Stonnington
The Rotary Club of Malvern are provided with a food vendor site at this annual event held in Central Park and generate substantial funds through the sale of food/drink to a dedicated audience.
Sausage Sizzle at Dan Murphy’s, Malvern
Fortnightly Saturday sausage sizzle provided to customers with 100% of funds going directly to the Rotary Club of Malvern.
Stonnington Business Breakfasts
Quarterly business breakfasts events co-hosted with Stonnington Council which attract a wide audience from the local business community.
These and many other fundraising initiatives provide the Club with the financial resources to undertake special Club projects that directly benefit others (see Projects Page for more details).
They also provide Club Members with great volunteer opportunities, which develop fellowship and create a vibrancy that resonates in an active Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club of Malvern is always seeking new opportunities to partner with others on fundraising projects that can continue to benefit our community. Please contact us if you would like to support one of our projects or fundraising activities with a donation, gift-in-kind or specialist expertise.
