RIMERN Volunteering
Nov 11, 2023 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Malvern (and friends) are needed to help out at RIMERN from 1030 - 1230 to help sort donations.

Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network Inc (RIMERN) is a multi-club Centenary of Rotary in Australia project, that is continuing the community service work of Eastern Emergency Relief Network (EERN) in Mitcham and Western Emergency Relief Network (WERN) in Ravenshall, bridging the two established services across greater Melbourne as a central source of donated new and second-hand furniture, appliances and household goods for people requiring support who are introduced by a range of member relief agencies and organisations.

Our clients may have suffered from a range of crises, including long term illness, unemployment, domestic violence or homelessness, refugee displacement, incarceration or other situations of hardship.

These clients can only access our goods through the Member Agencies of RIMERN.

Where does RIMERN operate?

RIMERN supports people of inner Melbourne, ie. the cities of Stonnington, Glen Eira, Port Philip, Melbourne, Yarra, Darebin, east Moreland, south Banyule and northern Bayside.

How is RIMERN funded?
The cost of running RIMERN (rent, outgoings, utilities, vehicle costs, rubbish disposal, administration and cleaning) is approximately $100,000 per annum, funded by member Rotary Clubs, Member Agency annual fees, philanthropic Grants, Rotary Grant funding and other fundraising.
From time to time, RIMERN may sell donated goods that are unsuitable for clients’ homes, raising additional operating funds.

Rotary Malvern Christmas
Nov 26, 2023 5:52 PM - 8:00 PM

It is hard to believe that we are already planning for the end of the year! Please see below for the proposed date and details of our End of Year Celebration for the Rotary Club of Malvern – it will be a great chance to celebrate another fantastic year of Rotary with each other and our loved ones.

Proposed date: Sunday 26th November

Proposed time: 5 – 8 pm

Proposed location: Dorothy Laver Reserve East Pavilion (Saxby Road) – we would have full access to the entire pavilion on the night, which includes toilets, a kitchen and tables and chairs. We would also have access to the park, and there is plenty of car parking available.

Please save the date, and we are looking forward to a wonderful night together.

Geoff Joshua

Feb 21, 2024 6:00 PM

Our key note speaker, Geoff Joshua is booked for the evening of 21 Feb 2024. We met Geoff through the Police Mentoring program. He has 3 jobs: He is a high ranked Police Office who currently is an area manager. He is the Victorion Cricket Umpire Coach. He also is an AFL score review match official (If you watch AFL you would have heard his voice giving his decision about a score review).

He has a fantastic story to tell and will be incredibly entertaining
