Are you looking to expand and develop your business network?
Rotary has evolved greatly from its genesis as a business network more than 100 year ago. Nevertheless it has retained its business roots. Members of the Rotary Club of Malvern represent a cross-section of business owners, managers and professionals from right across the spectrum of business activity.
This provides great business networking opportunities to meet like minded members of the local community as well as internationally through Rotary’s Global Networking Groups.
You will be encouraged to serve the community through your business network and professional skills and to inspire others in the process.
The assistance that you can provide to the business community under the Rotary banner is only limited by your own imagination commitment and energy as Rotary encourages members to develop new and innovative ways to use their business network and professional skills to develop the skills of others, especially people without jobs and young people starting out in their business or professional careers.
Examples of successfullocal programs organised by the Rotary Club of Malvern include mentoring and business awards:
-
Stonnington Business Connection : a business network opportunity to connect business, council and the local Stonnington community.
-
Police Mentoring : to foster the theme of partnership amongst leaders of Rotary, their business network and the Victoria Police.
-
Holmesglen TAFE Awards: an award scheme to connect Rotary Malvern members with Holmesglen students
-
Group Study Exchange : A program that provides an exchange opportunity for young local professionals abroad.
-
RMIT Business Plan Competition: Encourages students from RMIT to develop their business network by participating in the business plan competition under a mentor from the Rotary Club of Malvern.
You can apply your skills on an endless array of existing programs that Rotary already delivers on a more global scale These include international exchanges, micro credit programs in developing countries or hands-on humanitarian programs such as assisting in the provision of clean water.
Using their particular business network and professional skills, Rotary members right around the world are constantly developing new programs. The polio plus program, which has almost eradicated the scourge of polio from the world, was an idea of one member, which was taken up by his club and eventually by Rotary Internationally. This is an example of how Rotary fosters the development of programs that can reach and benefit not just the local community but all of humanity.
