RYPEN - developing and building confidence in young people

This Rotary Youth Leadership program is aimed at 14 to 16 year olds.

In today’s competitive world, there are not always opportunities for the average student to step outside their comfort zone, explore their ideas to develop the “life skills” that translate to confidence in everyday life.

RYPEN aims to provide participants with the opportunity to develop their leadership potential, alongside their peers in a supportive environment.

It encourages attendees to explore their ideas in problem solving, team and group activities, and gain experiences that will assist them in forming their own values and moral standards.

RYPEN is about building confidence and developing skills to cope in a range of situations.

Model United Nations Assembly

This excellent program is aimed at Year 11 students who have demonstrated, through their studies, an interest in politics, international affairs and public speaking. It provides an exceptional self development opportunity.

The Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) simulates the workings of the U.N. Assembly by having teams of two or three senior students represent a particular U.N. country in debates on matters of world political and social concern.

It is a residential program, normally held over a week-end from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime.
The main aims are to develop in students an awareness of the United Nations and the international situation of other countries in the world. It can help students to improve their public speaking skills, be better informed about world events and more aware of the challenges faced by differing countries and cultures.

Rotary Youth Exchange

Rotary Youth Exchange provides you with an opportunity of a lifetime.

It is provides Year 10 and Year 11 students with the opportunity to live and study overseas for a year.

During the 12 months as a Rotary Exchange student, you will normally live with three or four host families. You will become part of those families and their community. These Rotary accredited families are volunteers who will welcome and care for you, supervise your year and introduce you to their culture and lifestyle.

You will also attend Rotary Club meetings and events throughout the year.

You may need to learn another language, experience different foods, study different subjects, enjoy a new culture and learn to enjoy a new way of living.

If you are ready for the challenge and the rewards of living in another land as an exchange student, then you are ready to discover new worlds through the Rotary Youth Exchange.

You can find out more today by contacting the Rotary Club of Malvern.
